UPDATE: Electric & Hybrid Cars Shipping Requirements

Further to our service update on the 14th August 2023 regarding Aerologic (3S), please be informed that, effective immediately, DHL Air Limited (D0) also has additional operator requirements for Electric and Hybrid Vehicles.

The transport of Electric Vehicles (EV) under UN3171 with a mass/weight of 100kgs or more and Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HV) under UN3166 with mass/weight of 100kgs or more, must be shipped at a ‘turn-key’ battery indication no greater than 15%.

HV’s under UN3166 without a ‘turn-key’ charge indication, must be loaded within a Fire-Resistant Container (FRC) or be covered by a Fire Containment Cover (FCC).

DHL Air Ltd also requires the following statement to be placed on the Dangerous Goods Declaration (DGD) in the Additional Handling Information field:

“The charge indication of the vehicle is 15% or less”

As a reminder, Aerologic will only accept electric and hybrid cars when protected by Fire Containment Covers.

This requirement is applicable only to electric/hybrid cars assigned to UN3166/UN3171 and not to other electric.

We would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation and if you require further clarification, then please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards,
