Making good progress towards 100% ICS2 Compliance – but there’s still a way to go!

Your support towards the good progress we’ve been making on the ICS2 compliance front is much appreciated.
lobally we are now in excess of 60% compliant, from less than 10% in November 2022 (as the graph below highlights).

We need to keep our Focus on hitting the 100% target for ICS2 by the (new) target date of June 2023.

ICS2 is a legal requirement for shipments that transit through the EU or are destined for it.

It requires all MAWB and HAWB records to have:

    - Full line item goods description
    - Harmonized System (HS) Code per line item
    - Valid goods description (non-generic and accurate). Find guidelines here.

Shipments that don’t have this data and fall under the scope of ICS2 will soon be held at origin until the data is compliant.
We take this opportunity to remind you it is essential Customers submit all FWBs/FHLs prior to tendering shipments. This applies to all shipments.

If you require further clarification then please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Kind regards,

    Air Capacity Sales Europe

We would like to remind our customers that EU Customs Authorities require:

Failure to provide compliant ICS2 FWB and FHL messages will result in a fee of 100 EUR per non-compliant record.

REMINDER: Mandatory FWB/FHL Requirement on DHL Aviation

We would like to remind you again of our mandatory FWB/FHL messaging requirements we communicated back in August 2021. Given the increasing regulatory focus on shipment security and visibility as well as our push for shipment data digitalisation, DHL Aviation requires all customers to submit electronic paperwork information prior to tendering your shipments.

This data must be provided electronically in IATA formatted FWB & FHL messages.

Please use our quick reference guide below to ensure you comply with our messaging requirements. If your operating system does not allow for FWB/FHL messages to be sent, DHL Aviation has provided a FREE OF CHARGE platform where you can submit DHL Aviation prefix related shipment data.

    News

Should you experience difficulties in any of the above options which have not been resolved by contacting your messaging provider, then please contact us at ACS.Data.Quality@dhl.com with a detailed description of the issue.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that:

    • Goods Description on both MAWB and HAWB must be specific and non-generic.
Failing to do so can cause delays to your shipment.
    • The physical MAWB remains mandatory at shipment tender.

Receiving accurate and complete paperwork information electronically upfront enables us to provide our customers with an improved service in terms of:

    • Time gained at physical acceptance of shipments.
    • Removal of any exception handling related to:
      - Data accuracy and completeness.
      - Aligned manifest and customs data.
      - Shipment screening completed prior to shipment tender.

Shipments without FWB/FHL data submission will experience delays and additional charges.
If you require further clarification then please do not hesitate to contact us.
